We have been having lots of fun exploring the new maths boxes Mrs graham made up. These boxes have activities that let us explore number sense in different ways. We are leaning to count in different ways, to make groups and to know patterns in numbers.

DAB our germs away

With so many people sick last week we decided it was a good time to talk about ways to stop germs from spreading. We 'sneeze in our sleeve', or DAB to keep our germs away from others.

Counting fun

We are learning to count in many different ways. This week we have been skip counting in twos, fives and tens. We even try to skip count backwards. Some of us are working on numbers up to 20, and others can skip count all the way to 100! Today our Room 7 buddies came to help us with our counting. We found lots of fun ways to count.

Hiding the odd numbers to count in twos.

Counting in twos, fives, or tens with each catch.

We are back!

What a great start back to the term! We have enjoyed being back with our old friends, and also welcoming a new friend to our class.

Now that Mrs Graham is here every day we have changed our timetable and the room around a bit. We are excited about the new learning spaces. We are trying to use more play-based activities throughout the day to support our learning. The family area and the maths weighing stations have been very popular.

A highlight for everyone this week has been the 'Creation Station' activities, and shared our work with the rest of Koru at assembly on Friday. This week we made different animals from paper.
